Skills and Drills Clinics

These 60 to 90 minute clinics are designed to focus on the technical and tactical elements of the game while developing a key shot or strategy. Recommended for players that have completed a Learn 2 Play, a Pickleball 101 class, or players who have been playing an minimum of 3 months but lack formal instruction.

Pickleball 102
Review the basics: rules, scoring, court positioning. Analysis of grip, stance, footwork, ready position and contact point. Techniques and drills to help improve play in every area on the court

NVZ The art of dinking
Here we will review the rules of the Non Volley Zone (Kitchen). Learn the strategies of dinking, offensive, defensive and cross court. Introduction of shot tolerance and muscle memory.

Serve and Return
In this session we will dive deep into the first two shots of the game. To play you have to be able to serve and or return the ball to your opponent. Focus on footwork, stroke and follow through.

3rd shot drops and drives
Called the hardest shot in the game. We will break it down so its easy to understand and master. What is a drop and when to implement it…and when not to.

Block Shots and resets
Tired of the bangers? Today we will give you the tools to counter the drive shot, reset a fire fight into a dink battle and when to catch your opponent off guard with a soft shot into the kitchen they cant get to, or force a pop up.

Lobs and Overheads
The Lob is without question one of the most effective shots of the game.. And the most dangerous to defend. In the session we will dive into when to use a lob, where to place it how to defend it individually and as a partner. …Overhead, drive or drop??

Transition Zone
Sometimes still referred to as "no mans land".. But as the game has developed play in zone between the base line and NVZ has become critical to master. In this session we will introduce you to offensive and defensive technics to work you way through this zone to the kitchen line.. and when to retreat back giving up the line.

Clinics are held on varying days and times during the week on a rotational basis. A minimum of 3 participants is required with a maximum of 8. If the minimum required participants are not realized 24 hours prior to start time the clinic will be rescheduled. Sign up and pre payment on the XP site is required. Cost of each clinic is $20 pp.
